How to Change Car Wiper Blades
Wiper Blade Removal & Re-Fitting Instructions
First identify the correct wiper blades for your vehicle using a trusted source such as: Autobulbsdirect.co.uk or Halfords.com. Please note you can use these websites to correctly identify the correct blades for your car by using their online search facility & purchase elsewhere, although we believe the prices & services available from the above business's are very competitive.
With the correct wiper blades sourced you are now ready to change your car wipers, first lift the wiper arm (be careful for the arm not to snap back on to the windshield & cause damage) With the wiper arm vertical in the air now remove the old used wiper blade (Please note there are various types of wiper blade fixings & wiper arms, See image to the right) To remove the blade it depends on what type of wiper arm attachment you have on your vehicle (Hook, Side-Lock, Top-Lock, Pinch-Tab, Bayonet, Slim-Top) A lot of vehicles are fitted with the Hook type of wiper arm & the blade is held in place by a hook & adapter & should be removed by pulling them towards the base of the wiper arm (downwards), usually it is clicked into place, now select the correct adapter for the new wiper blade (if not already fitted) the re-fitting is reversal of removal, any specific instructions should be on the wiper blade packaging. The other type of wiper arm connections: Side-lock, Top-lock, Pinch-tab, Bayonet & Slim-top are basically push & click connectors & are easily removed & re-fitted by pressing a release click & pulling the blade in the correct direction, again any specific instructions should be on the wiper blade packaging.
